Metso Automation has been awarded a contract for the delivery of a metsoDNA CR automation system to the new combined cycle power plant (CCPP) in Bandirma, Turkey. The 920 MW power plant is being built for the Turkish company EnerjiSA Enerji Üretim AS, a joint venture between the Turkish Holding Sabanci and the Austrian Verbund.
The new CCPP is scheduled to begin commercial operation mid-2010.
The Bandirma CCPP is based on two gas turbines, one steam turbine – each delivering more than 300 MW of electricity – and two heat recovery steam generators.
This is the first joint project between Metso Automation and A-Tec Power Plant Systems AG, a subsidiary of the Austrian AE&E Group.
This is the second Turkish CCPP order that Metso Automation has won. It previously supplied the automation system for the 800 MW CCPP in Baymina near Ankara.
